As the Director of Risk Management, Daniel is committed to building a strong safety culture founded on the three principles of communication, education and strong leadership. He is a dedicated proponent of the safety of those around him, understands the importance of forming partnerships to achieve continued success and is an advocate of putting “People First, Safety Always”.
A veteran of the United States Army and a former Firefighter / EMT, Daniel has a unique perspective on the impact safety plays in our everyday life. Daniel brings over fourteen (14) years of combined experience in risk management & mitigation, rescue and emergency response. Daniel has an inherent ability for program development and execution, operations and team building.
Since joining the EMSI family, Daniel has focused his efforts on providing safety resources that are easily accessible to employees and clients alike. Believing that perfection is a journey and not a destination, Daniel continually seeks new methods to ensure a safe work environment for EMSI employees with a focus on recoverability as well as prevention. Daniel has a true passion for the safety of EMSI employees as is demonstrated by his familiarity with site-specific safety requirements, regular site visits and engaging safety training programs.
Daniel is an active member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), The Houston Business Roundtable (HBR) and various client contractor safety groups. Daniel holds his CHST certification through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) and will be completing his bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health with a Certificate in Environmental Management in the Spring of 2020.
